 The South Korean Ambassador to  Britain clarified...

The ambassador said, 

“Young Korean men are meant to serve the country, 

and these BTS members are role models for many young Korean generations.

"He did not give a time frame as to when the band would call. 

It brings to mind the story of Elvis Presley who, 

at the height of his popularity in the 1950s,

 enlisted in the army. He managed to resume serving but not at the level of before.
