Sayed Abdel Hafeez, Al-Ahly’s football director, said that the team was distinguished by its spirit and determination against Monterrey, Mexico, in the Club World Cup matches.
The first football team of Al-Ahly club beat Monterrey, Mexico, with a goal without a response, scored by Mohamed Hani, to reach the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
"There was a great spirit and determination among the players in order to win against Monterrey, Mexico, in light of injuries and absences," Syed Abdel Hafeez said in televised statements.
He added, "During the last period, the team was lacking a number of players, and we spoke with the players present that we are all confident in them and in their capabilities in order to win the Club World Cup".
He continued, "Al-Ahly went through a difficult test, but the players were men, and we told the players that we were coming to win, and indeed they were up to the responsibility."
