More than 475,000 Tesla cars were recalled last week due to problems with the hood on one model and the backup camera on another model.
About 120,000 Tesla Model S electric cars were recalled due to a front boot issue, according to a recall notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The problem is with the secondary latch on the Model S hood.
On some vehicles, the backup latch is misaligned, meaning that if the primary latch fails, the hood will lift up and block the driver's view of the road. .
While the Model S problem is more dangerous, the Model 3 problem is more widespread, affecting more than 355,000 vehicles, according to the recall notice.
The problem was found on all 2017-2020 Model 3s.
On the Model 3, the trunk cable that connects to the rear-view camera can fray after wear from opening the trunk, the notice said.
Once it is broken, the backup camera stops working.
Tesla has a recall portal on its website where people can check to see if their vehicle is part of the recall.
The Model S problem can be fixed with realignment at a service center, according to Tesla. Meanwhile, the Model 3 requires a new cable installation. Tesla said both services will be free.
