 Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that imposing sanctions against President Vladimir Putin would be an act that goes beyond all limits.

The Kremlin spokesman stressed that the attempt to impose these sanctions would be considered a tantamount to severing ties.

Earlier, Congress passed legislation to impose sanctions on senior Russian officials, led by President Vladimir Putin, if Moscow decided to "invade Ukraine".
