USGS announced details of the earthquake that hit Cyprus coast, in the early hours of Tuesday morning, which was felt by residents of Greater Cairo and some Egyptian cities.
According to the American agency, a 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Mediterranean, 48 kilometers from the Cypriot city of Paphos, at approximately 3:07 in the morning.
While the commission indicated that 6 countries were affected by this tremor, including Egypt, the occupied Palestinian territories, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece and UK.
The recent earthquake is the strongest after the largest earthquake in the region of 6.8 magnitude in 1996, which killed two people in Paphos along the western coast of Cyprus.
